Nep nuong (upland sticky rice) in Dien Bien has become a famous brand of Vietnam rice. Nep nuong is grown on upland fields just only one crop of a year, without any herbicides or pesticides and depends almost entirely on natural condition. It may not be the effective and productive farming, but the product is guaranteed to be clean and superd. Local people often steam the rice twice before use, the first one to make the rice grains cooked, and the next one to make them soft and sticky.
