  1. Apple seemed to target a very niche base with these. I honestly don't even believe they are getting much use in Hollywood either. Everything in VFX is moving over to GPU rendering and the lack of NVIDIA support is a major issue. A lot of modeling/animation software and render engines are developed to natively run using CUDA. Many can make use of OpenCL but some require workarounds and or suffer from worse performance. When you consider the CUDA system you could build for the price of a Mac Pro, it's really a no brainer to go with a PC. Right now you could build a Xeon or Threadripper based render machine with 2x a6000s and 128GB of memory for MUCH cheaper that would FAR outperform a decently specd Mac Pro. Plus running an RTX based system allows you to work Nvidia Omniverse into your pipeline which offers seriously amazing RT performance. I've seen guys render close to 20 billion triangles in a fully raytraced scene in literally seconds.

  2. apple spend so much money in the new MacBook 12" is discounted because was not necessary another MacBook Air but if there where justa little smart to make that one in to a MacBook 12' upgradable like the Mac Pro ..then I would it choose that one..

  3. I can't even imagine why anyone would ever need 768GB of ram. thats so much ram that I can't even think of an example of what it would need to run to get anywhere near it's limit.

  4. 11:34 I can explain why they would choose 2 separate Vega ii instead of a duo: two will give each gpu 16x pcie lanes, while a duo has both gpus sharing one 16x lane. This won’t matter for 3D rendering or some workloads, but it will matter in cases where you are doing 8k playback, real time color grading, etc. Even apples white paper on Mac Pro recommends two vega ii for video and this extra bandwidth. 3D work is fine, since it’s not pcie limited

  5. I had a 2012-2013 model of the honda fit, where i live its called the Honda Jazz not Fit, sitting in that car for almost 9 years showed me its value and that pc is just too much overpriced in comparison, you know its gone too far when you can buy a car in the same price as a PC

  6. Here’s the issue, at that price point they have to add in all the goods instead of trying to protect themselves. I get it with the phones, I don’t agree but I get it but shoveling 1,000’s to get a proformmance machine I can’t extra monitors into except “these 3” or needing hubs on hubs for all my USB’s just gets me. And because they aren’t on there it makes me think the machine will slow drastically when I use all the. Stuff I personallly like

  7. I don’t think the real message is that you don’t need a desktop. The only message I’m getting here is that I don’t need Apple’s desktop. Still an overpriced underspeced piece of junk.
